PUBLIC NOTICE

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-265(a-e), this is to notify Fairview Precinct Voters in Walker County of the transition of the voting precinct from the fire hall on Jenkins Road to the VFW Post 3679, 98 Memorial Drive, accessible off Park City Road at Highway 27 by-pass.

 

PUBLIC NOTICE

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-265(a-e), this is to notify Fairview Precinct Voters in Walker County of a public meeting to discuss the transition of the voting precinct from the fire hall on Jenkins Road to the VFW Post 3679, 98 Memorial Drive, accessible off Park City Road at Highway 27 by-pass. Walker County Board of Elections members and staff invite interested parties to this public meeting to be held at the Walker County Agriculture Building, located behind the Walker County Civic Center in Rock Spring. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. on May 10, 2013, and will be held in conjunction with the regular monthly meeting of the Walker County Board of Elections and Registration.


In compliance with Georgia Code Section 21-2-262(c), the Walker County Board of Elections and Registration hereby gives notice of a precinct boundary change affecting certain voters in the Rossville Precinct, moving said voters to the Chattanooga Valley Precinct.  Those affected are within the following geographic boundaries:  starting at the intersection of GA hwy 193 and Happy Valley Road, going east on Happy Valley and continuing to the intersection of Happy Valley Road and GA Hwy 2, then west on GA Hwy 2 back to GA Hwy 193, and then south on GA Hwy 193 back to the intersection of GA Hwy 193 and Happy Valley Road.  This change has been recommended by the members of the Board of Elections and Registration, due to the proximity of affected voters to the Chattanooga Valley Polling Place.  The proposed change will be voted by the members in their meeting scheduled May 11, 2012.  Any person objecting to the proposed precinct boundary change must file his or her objections, in writing, with the Superintendent by 5-10-2012.

In compliance with Georgia Code Section 21-2-265, the Walker County Board of Elections and Registration hereby gives notice of intention to change the voting location, or polling place,  for the Rock Spring precinct from 322 Highway 95 (Community Building) to 3477 Peavine Road (Rock Spring United Methodist Church Family Life Center).  Said change has been recommended by the members of the Board of Elections and Registration, and will be voted in the next meeting scheduled for May 11, 2012.  Comments and/or objections may be submitted to the Superintendent of Elections for consideration at that meeting, or by attending said meeting to be held at the Walker County Courthouse, 8:30 a.m. on 5-11-2012.
