Mission Statement
The mission of the Elections and Registration Department is to register citizens of Walker County to vote; to ensure that elections are free, impartial, fair, accurate, convenient and accessible to all voters; to encourage voter participation; to provide excellent customer service to voters, candidates, and the media; and to help the public understand and follow all laws, rules and regulations.
The Department enforces strict adherence to all current Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as to State Election Board Rules concerning registering to vote and voting, and serves all citizens in election related matters.

NOTICE OF COMPUTATION & CANVASSING OF ELECTION RETURNS - Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21-2-492, notice is hereby given that the computation and canvassing of the returns of votes cast in the December 6, 2022 General Runoff Election will take place in the Office of Walker County Board of Elections, 103 S. Duke St., LaFayette, GA 30728 on December 6, 2022 beginning at 7:00 P.M.

Notice is hereby given that the logic and accuracy testing and preparation of voting equipment to be used in the December 6, 2022 General Election Runoff will begin at 9:00 am on November 21, 2022. Testing will continue from day to day until complete and members of the public are entitled to be present during testing. Said testing and preparation will be conducted at the Walker County Elections and Registration Annex, 106 E. Withers St., LaFayette, GA 30728
